NEWS RELEASE Ascender Corp featured at the 2nd Annual Summit on Intellectual Property for Wireless Tech & New MediaELK GROVE VILLAGE, IL June 2, 2008 Ascender Corporation, a leading provider of advanced font products, today announced that it will be presenting at the 2nd Annual Summit on Intellectual Property for Wireless Tech & New Media at the Hyatt at Fisherman’s Wharf in San Francisco on June 17-18, 2008. The conference is designed for IP attorneys and licensing professionals in the wireless and new media technology industries. Ira Mirochnick, Founder and CEO of Ascender Corp will be presenting with Tanya Moore, General Manager of Outbound IP Licensing at Microsoft Corporation. Their presentation is entitled “Convergence of Devices: Best Practice in Licensing, Joint Projects and Development Agreements with Wireless Tech and New Media”. Microsoft has launched a variety of Intellectual Property licensing initiatives, providing customers, partners and competitors access to the Microsoft IP portfolio. Since December 2003, Microsoft has entered into more than 500 IP licensing agreements. In April 2005, Microsoft and Ascender Corp announced a licensing agreement that allows Ascender to distribute Microsoft fonts, and for Ascender to modify and adapt the Microsoft fonts for software and hardware developers. The Ascender team is a long-term business partner of Microsoft and helped develop many of Microsoft’s most widely used fonts. Ascender continues to design and produce new fonts, and enhancements to existing fonts in Microsoft’s IP portfolio. The presentation by Ms. Moore and Mr. Mirochnick will highlight the strategic benefits to software & hardware developers, especially those in the wireless and new media technology industries.
